New Parts Warehouse Speeds Up Delivery Times

The speed at which we deliver parts to our customers just got faster thanks to a new distribution center Perkins opened in Kentucky.

The 37,000-square-foot space in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, is uniquely situated within a 400,000-square-foot, multi-client facility operated by shipping giant UPS. Fifty miles away at the Louisville Airport, UPS moves 130 of its aircraft through the airfield each day.

This unique partnership allows Perkins Pacific to better serve customer needs by tapping into the inventory of more Perkins parts and utilizing UPS’s logistics expertise to move those items across the country, many on next-day delivery orders.

The new center has also implemented a back-end system that gives us a valuable inventory management tool that uses complex algorithms to calculate the amount of stock we should carry. This gives us the ability to refine our customer support services.
